Any business that earns profit by buying and selling goods is called Merchandising Business. Merchandising Business is also known as Trading Business.

Merchandising Business organization conducts business activities called Merchandising Operations. There are basically four types of business organizations based on activities:

Wholesale and retail traders together are called merchandisers and their operations are called Merchandising Operations. Merchandising Operations are of two types: a) Purchase related activities b) Sales related activities.
Merchandising or Trading organizations act as a link and bridge between producers and consumers. Wholesalers buy goods from producers and sell them to retailer or final consumers.
